Is it just me? Error installing MLLanguageSelector 3.0.2

Ok,

I had to upgrage a client site from DNN 4.9 to DNN 5.4.4. After the upgrade all of my Apollo Software is not working. MLLanguageSelector, MLHTML, MLAdvAnouncemtents

I just purchased MLLanguageSelector from Snowcovered and tried to install (Yes I did unzip the outter file).

Everything seemed normal until the installation. I recieved this:

I re-downloaded the file to make sure it is not corrput, but same error.

Can anyone help? The Event viewer has the exact same error, so no additional info...

Duplicate Content in Google

Hi,

we use the Languageselector on our website. We have three languages installed (de-DE, da-DK and en-US).

We have the problem that the google crawler starts with our german website .de and then the crawler goes over the language links to the Danish and English content but with the context of the .de Website.

Is it possible to set a "nofollow" Attribute in the language selector? Or is there another solution?

Languge hyperlinks are not visible when embedded in skin

Hi,

We have embedded ML Language selector module into our skin and it was working fine.

We could hide or show the languge hyperlinks in our skin by enabling or disabling the languages from Admin ->languages.

Our DNN was then in version 4.9.

Now we upgraded our DNN to 5.1.2 and we do not see any option now for the languages hyperlinks to show or hide.

Please help. We are currently using MLLanguageSelector 3.0.0.

Language Selector changes core DNN words but not everything...

Hi Erik,

We have the language selector installed on our site.

We have the flag for espanol set up, but when we click it, only DNN core words will change for the links, for instance, privacy statement, or login will change, but the content itself that we put in, and the page names are not changing.

What are we missing, or doing wrong?

Language selector version is 3.00.02. DNN version is, 5.04.01

Disabled Languages still appearing in Language Selector

We're using DSLocalizator on a DotNetNuke website with many child portals.

We’ve installed several language packs:

English (United States)
Français (France)
Ελληνικά (Ελλάδα)
Dansk (Danmark)
Deutsch (Österreich)
Deutsch (Schweiz)
Norsk, Bokmål (Norge)

All these languages are not necessary on the different portals. For example on Portal 5 I only need English (US), Deutsch (Schweiz) and Français (France).

But despite I deactivated the other languages on my chil portal, they still appear in the language selector. Is there a way to hide the languages which are not available?

I am building a site with 4 languages: german, french, italian and english.

Question 1:
How is it possible, to make my own order? First german, then, french, then italian and then english

Question 2:
I would like to show not a flag and not a word. I have to show d for german, f for french, i for italian and e for english.

it would be nice, if there is an idea about this.

Menu disappears sometimes

Hi, running MLLanguageSelector 2.3 on DNN 4.9 - on some pages of our site we use the DNNArticle module and when a user pages through the articles list, the drop-down language selector will disappear and on an admin page where we have the PageLocalization module, when we click update the drop-down also disappears.

Could you please help?

sorry, if this may seem stupid, but where is the download for the language selector? I can download all the other modules but for this one there is only a core modification download.

MLLanguageSelectro issues with safari and opera

I thing there exist a problem with MLLanguageSelector for safari and chrome browsers.

http://64.237.101.237 is a sandbox website.

with ie and opera works fine.

with safari and chrome, the top menus (embassy, consular affairs, pressoffice) are not clickable. You click on them and nothing happens. All the others submenu items works ok. If you go from the sitemap and click on the top menus they work ok.

My first thought was the skin, but proves to be wrong and I believe the problem is with the ml language selector module.

Any ideas that ?.

Language not Changing - Issue with DotNetNuke 5.2.2?

Hi there,

I've upgraded 2 DNN installations using MLLanguageSelector to DNN 5.2.1, and after re-enabling English, everything worked smoothly. However, a third installation that I did directly to DNN 5.2.2 doesn't allow me to change the language with the MLLanguageSelector. When I log in as a user, I can change the language via the user profile settings, so switching languages in general works - but for some reason changing the language with the MLLanguageSelector just doesn't work.

I've also tried copying the declaration of MLLanguageSelector from one of the skins in one of the other installations where it's working to this installation - which didn't make a difference (I had two MLLanguageSelectors in the skin that way).

Are there any known issues with DotNetNuke 5.2.2? Or is it likely that this is a problem with this particular installation? This is on a backup-system, so I could "rollback" to 4.9.0 and do an upgrade to 5.2.1 to see if that makes a difference.

Any other ideas what could cause this?

Hi - I am trying to show a MLLanguageSelector (2.1.1 on DNN5.1) with 2 flags, but my provider has 4 languages installed. I already deactivated the two unwanted languages, but the MLLanguageSelector keeps displaying all 4 flags. What should be done to only display flags of the actvie languages?

When i installed Apollo MLLanguageSelector 3.0 (PA) installation finished successfully...

If i go into the settingsmodule, i see all Settingproperties but i see a defectmessage too:

I have been able to reproduce this, so that’s good ;)

Thinking about this feature a bit more:

· One idea I got from a client a while back was this: have the flag for the language available, but display an alert that the language is not implemented yet. This would show all language buttons.

· All mapped languages should be hidden by default.. what if only one language remains: should the language selector render at all in that case?

So, what I am probably going to do is this: add a setting which allows you to define how mapped languages should be handled.

Apparently vacation already has a good influence ;)

MapLanguages not working with more than one locale

MapLanguages="en-US:de-CH;it-IT:de-CH" is not working. The first locale is not displayed, as intended, while the second locale, is still displayed.

Hi,
I have notice that when MapLanguages is used, the flags relative to the mapped languages are not displayed to the normal (anonymous) user.

Is this feature supposed to work in this way? From the manual I thought that the flag would be there but when clicked a redirection to the mapped language would occurr.
