Hi,

I have a strange problem with Title localization on both my server and development computer. I have the following versions installed.

DNN: 5.1.4
ModuleLocalization: 3.0.1
MLHTML: 2.0.6

I am only having problem with the Title of the MLHTML module, the text is allways working as it should.

My problem is that when I am not signed in or signed in as a normal user the title never change when I change lanauge. It allways dislays the titel enterd under "Module Settings -> Basic Settings". But if I am sigend in as Host och Admin the title localization works fine.

I have tried many things but have not been able to find a reason for the problem.

I found one more that that might help to solve this problem.

When I am logged in as an Admin or Host and I have selected "Edit" in the DNN Controlpanel (the panel in the top of the window) it works, but if I change to "View" the title localization stops working.

Sorry for my spamming but I found out one more thing.

I think chaching is involved in this problem. If I change the module settings "Cache Time (secs):" to 0 everything seems to work. If I put it at 5 then I get the problems some times and sometime not. If i set it to 3600 I always get the problem.

Just for your information I also tried version 2.0.4 of MLHTML and it looks like this version has the same problem.

you can do either of 2 things:
* dont use caching
* use caching AND use the MLTITLE container skinobject as a replacement for the Core TITLE container skinobject (MLTITLE is part of ModuleLocalization). MLTITLE makes sure that the correct title gets displayed even if caching is enabled.

The reason for this detour is the fact that the module tries to set the module title through code. Of course, when the module is cached, no code is executed, hence no title is set.

Hi Erik,

Perhaps you should tell Zimmers the reference to that topic:
http://apollo-software.nl/tabid/163/aff/11/aft/1349/afv/topic/Default.aspx
... Do you remember, Erik??? As far as I know, it is still unsolved.

MLTITLE is no solution anymore, because titles are empty if a module is loaded from cache (since DNN 5.1).

By the way: Disable caching is not a proper solution for me (performance). That's why I am still waiting for a fix.

I have uploaded a new version of ModuleLocalization (under ML Module). The new version is version 05.00.00. It fixes a DotNetNuke breaking change with respect to how the module context is retrieved from within a container.

Mind you: if you are running DNN 4, you dont need this new version, it is for DNN 5 only!

the MLTITLE skin object now works correctly. This means however that you MUST use the MLTITLE skinobject in your container for the ml title to work properly
