Hi Erik,

Can you please help me use the page localization API. I want to use it to get the localized tab names for the current culture in order use them in a site map module (I want to make some modifications in the dnnExperts.SiteMap module).

I see that Apollo.DNN.Modules.PageLocalization.PageLocalizationController or Apollo.DNN.Modules.PageLocalization.DataProvider can return a Idatareader using the List and ListTabLocalization functions. Which one should I use and how, in order to get the tab names? Can you give me an example in VB or C#?

Thanks,

Dimitris

Hi Dimitris,

The source package comes with a tutorial and a chm file for the API. I am sorry, but you have to buy the source package in order to be able to use the API.

cheers,

I hope you don't mind that I managed to use the API without the documentation. I have made some modifications to the dnnexperts.siteMap module, so that it uses your module to display localized tab names. The control can also be used as a side menu. To control if apollo page localization will be used, I added an option in the settings section of the siteMap module.

I will publish the module in a few days.

Dimitri,

if you got it to work, withouth buying the source version ... that's ok with me. Just a few observations though:
* if you didn't buy the source version, then you are not allowed to redistribute any of the included software with your modified module
* i took a look at dnnExperts site map ... although it's a simple conversion of the dnn treeview skin object, the code does not contain any references to the dnn (bsd) license, and it's my understanding that in that case, the default copyright laws apply. So, before releasing a module based on work by others, please be sure you came to an agreement to do so .... otherwise you might be in violation of international copyright laws.

cheers,

erik

Hi Erik,

your observations are obvious:

* it never occured to me to redistribute the any of your software. I indent to publish my modifications for free, so that other users of yours will have the opportunity to include a localized siteMap in ther dotnetnuke implementations.

* dnnExperts will be also notified before that.

Regards,
Dimitris
