Hi
I have installed quick search and its hooked into index service. First off, from what I've seen I am very excited about this module.

Search results while logged in as host are impressive. Pdf's, doc's, secured dnn pages, etc.

However, when searching the same terms as an unregistered user I only get the first 3 from the previous search (that are not secured). The first 3 are all dnn pages. So its not showing a couple public dnn pages and all the doc and pdf results. I have checked the security for these missing items and they seem to all be ok.

I ran additional searches as an unregistered user and found that I was not able to get results that were pdf or doc files. So this is wierd right? I must have something set wrong because I am seeing good results as an administrator. What should I do to let unregistered users see similar results?

Thanks
Mike

Is anyone out there? Should I post under the general discussion?

Just some follow up, this looks like something weird with DNN security. The non-secured files are being indexed and displayed on the module search results (based on security level). Host is seeing them but regular registered and non-registered users are not. I checked several folders going down the chain in the file manager and all were set to be viewed by 'all users'. On the server all these folders are set with dnn as read/ write user. How do I open up this security so that not just the host is seeing all the search results?
Thanks
Mike

Still looking for some guidance here.

The following are things I've tried since the last post but still have the same problem with index service results only viewable to host and admin users...
- Set up an alternate index service pointed at a deeper folder in the site that I verified as visible to all through the dnn file manager.
- Added a www location to the index services directory property
- Rechecked folder permissions in DNN
- Cleared out all preferences in Quick Search Results settings
- Changed module's view setting from 'copy from page' to 'all users'
- Verified page view setting is set to 'all users'
- Tried changing edit state setting to 'all users'
- Reviewed the asp.net settigns for the site, didn't find anything that looked obviously wrong to me

I'm still thinking the issue is in the web site side of things as the index service seems to be functioning but I could really use some assistance.
Thanks
Mike
